Rhosneigr is one of my favourite kite spots in the UK. I’ve visited many times and only once have I been let down by the conditions. It’s location on the West Coast of Anglesey makes it about as ‘wind-sure’ as the UK offers.
The beach itself is superb. It offers a wide range of do-able directions. It has a good combination of waves and flat water lagoons. More about kitesurfing Rhosneigr.
Rhosneigr town (village?) has a great, laid-back holiday vibe. There are nice places to eat and drink, and it has a kite shop. What more could you ask for?
Imagine my delight when I was given the chance to review an apartment just 2 minutes from the beach at this awesome kite surfing venue!
Ty Cerrig Apartment
Charlotte’s Apartment is based right next to the Ty Hen Caravan Park, at the North East end of the town. It’s really easy to find. Simply head east out of the town on station road, watch out for the Ty Hen Caravan park turn off. Turn up there, and it’s your first left.
From the apartment, it takes about 2 minutes to get to the closest parking for the beach in the car. You could probably walk it in less than 10 minutes, and it’s only another 5 mins to reach the town centre for pubs and restaurants.
From the outside, with it’s grey render, it’s not the most attractive of buildings. But don’t let that put you off, it more than makes up for it inside. Outside you have ample parking, kit washing facilities and plenty of kit drying spots. It’s slightly ‘off the beaten track’ location means you can dry your gear outside with little fear of it being swiped. If you’re a little more security conscious, there’s also an outbuilding where you can store your kit.
Inside, the apartment is bright and airy with a seaside style decor. There’s all the mod cons you could wish for, and 2 bedrooms; one with a double bed, the other with bunk beds. It’s a really cosy place to stay, for up-to 4 people.
The whole experience of booking and staying at Ty Cerrig is a pleasant one. We got clear instructions on how to get there and we received a warm welcome. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything required for a brilliant Rhossy kitesurfing trip!
Next time you’re planning a trip to Rhossy, you should give Ty Cerrig a try. You can book the apartment at: airbnb.co.uk
